This is my first work done during my Master's program at U of Ottawa. It is a condensing of my feelings of both excitement and anxiety that I felt during my roadtrip from Vancouver Island to Ottawa. The ever-present horizon is the organizing principle of the work and the multiple panels reflect a non-linear sequencing of time and a test of memory. They are installed in an institutional setting for this version to make reference to certain notions about landscape in our culture. We embody/create the idea of landscape but what does this mean in regards to postcolonial ideas and indigenous land rights?
